La Serranía Decaf Espresso (045)
E, ST, FP
Decaf has been a topic of conversation in the SL house, and after plenty of tasting (and re-tasting) we’ve found one that passed every in-house critic.
Sourced from Colombia’s Huila region through Caravela’s Better Coffee initiative, it reflects a new standard for what green coffee can and should be. Far from a typical importer, Caravela leads the industry in sustainability, creating lasting opportunities for smallholder producers and their families. Carbon Neutral, fully traceable, and backed by data on quality, and connections.
La Serranía is a single origin coffee grown in microlots along the Central Cordillera of the Andes. The cherries were hand-picked, washed processed, then decaffeinated at the Descafecol facility in Manizales using a natural sugarcane-derived ethyl acetate solution to gently remove 99.7% of the caffeine. This process preserves the coffee's natural oils, leaving the profile intact.
In the cup, La Serranía is medium-bodied, round, moreish, and delicious. With notes of panela sugar, raisin, and malt, it carries a refined sweetness and surprising depth.
A better decaf with no compromise, it's one you can enjoy well into the evening.
